Later summer/early autumn is mushroom season here. Natives take to the forest to harvest Karl Johan and chanterelle for the dinner table. I am satisfied with capturing the colours and shapes with my camera while enjoying the scents of the autumn forest.
We have gotten into a habit of doing short family hikes in the weekends to get away from screens and devices for a little while. Kids so far join willingly. Usually we bring a little snack, this helps. Also we do a little game of counting how many different mushrooms we can find. The variations in shapes and colours seem endless. Here is a sample from this season so far. All from hikes in the local area.
