There is an election upcoming for the EU parliament this spring. As I’m helping out with the election on the day, I voted early. Posters are up in lampposts and public service media cover the election including tests to find a candidate to vote for.

Since many years I’m pro EU, international outlook and personal freedoms. Free and fair trade through regulation and transparency. This usually ends me somewhere in the middle of the spectrum but I always try to find a candidate that promotes an agenda that I care for.

This year I landed at Svante Linusson, professor in discrete mathematics. Not often you see candidates with a technical degree running for an election. His agenda is artificial intelligence, or more specifically how we benefit from the technology without sacrificing our personal integrity or our liberal democracy.

Stockholm in May is pretty awesome. We lived here seven years come June and I now know a number of hidden places for a special occasion. Let’s treasure what we have and work for more people to live in freedom and safe from war, political oppression, and natural and man-made disasters.

With Trump leading the polls in the US. Putin’s attacks on a rule based international order, and China’s ruthless oppression of minorities, a strong EU is more important than ever. As an EU citizen, you can do your part to send a message of international cooperation and solidarity.

Vote on June 9th. One small step for one person, one large step for humanity.
