Every week since the start of Russia's full scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Swedes have gathered in front of the Russian Embassy in Stockholm to show their support for Ukraine. Today I joined with my kids.

Flags, banners, speeches. Shouting over the fence towards the building carrying a lonely Russian flag in a sea of blue and yellow. The square in front of the embassy aptly named "Free Ukraine's Square".

I follow the war closely. In Swedish news, Danish news, on BBC and on YouTube. More than three years in, it is as heartbreaking as ever. Long range drones and cruise missiles targeting hospitals, forestations, market places, historical monuments, residential buildings.

Last night's attack on Kyiv left me particularly angry and frustrated. I have friends and relatives living there. Living through sleepless nights as they try to carry on with a normal life, raising kids and attending jobs. This time it was way too close. To see drones flying into residential buildings where people are sleeping, seemingly at random. Pure terrorism.

Joining a demonstration feels as a bare minimum thing to do. But it helps to see that we are many, even more than 3 years into the full scale war. It helps to see the strong support from many different groups in Sweden. Swedes who proudly take a stance against Russia. Who actively helps Ukraine. Through words, wallets, and individual actions.

Russia cannot be allowed to win this war of aggression that Putin chose. We must stand with Ukraine. Every little act of support or aid is a step closer to victory. Stay strong. Together we will prevail over evil.
