One sunny weekday in March, I took a detour to visit Thorildsplan, a metro station on the Green line six stops north from T-Centralen. The Stockholm metro is the world's longest art exhibition with most of its 100 or so station featuring art more or less prominently. I have an ambition to visit more stations of the Stockholm Metro in 2026 and so far I have posted about T-centralen, Alby, Hornstull, Kungsträdgården, and Stadion.
The prominent feature of Thorildsplan is the artwork Playtime by Lars Arrhenius from 2008. Inspired by 70s and 80s videogames, bright, pixelated monsters chase you up and down the platforms as you make your way to and from the train.
Enjoy!
