Who shoots first? Who hits? Who brought a knife to a gunfight? Play Draw Stranger to find out. Two gunslingers duel it out in the Old West in this 17 card micro game. A game plays in 5 minutes but you will want to play again and again.

Draw Stranger is now available from Thoughtful Dane’s web shop. You can get a physical copy and a print and play version.
Draw Stranger plays fast and has a neat learning curve. At first you play to learn how the game works. It seems down to luck who wins. But then as you get to know the cards, you discover there is a lot you can do to optimise your chances. Players with good memory and who are good at bluffing will do better over many games.

I will tour conventions and markets around Stockholm over the next many months. Keep an eye out and you may find me. If you have an event where independent publishers can demo and sell games, please invite me. Draw Stranger is also excellent for a tournament at High Noon, I will be happy to host one.
How Draw Stranger came to be
I had created a game about duelling saga heroes using a deck of 20 cards. Someone said, you should do a game about duelling gunslingers. My immediate reaction was that I couldn’t — it wouldn’t work. Then on a long drive back to Stockholm while the kids were asleep on the back seat, my brain came up with a solution. I created and tested a prototype the very next day. Over the summer, I brought a playable prototype with me when I travelled and played with my son and with strangers we met.
Since then, Draw Stranger has been through extensive playtesting. The core game is basically the same, but the game is now easier and faster to learn for first time players.
Thank you
A lot of people helped me get Draw Stranger over the finish line. To each and everyone who playtested an early version or contributed with feedback and advice: My sincere thanks, you helped make this a great game.

How you can help
I hope that Draw Stranger will reach an audience of players who will appreciate what it does. However, I need help to get spread the word. If you have played Draw Stranger, please rate it on BoardGameGeek, share the link to the game, or write a review.
While many independent game designers crowdfund games, I decided to go straight for publication. One advantage of micro games is that it is feasible to do a first print run without betting the house. It's been a fun challenge to design a game that is also simple to produce. When enough people discover how great a game Draw Stranger is, I hope for a large print run and distribution in every grocery shop. It’s much better than UNO! Until that happens, Draw Stranger will be a secret treasure to be found and appreciated by a select few.
