To communicate efficiently you need to understand the person you are communicating with. When working with remote teams across time zones and cultures it’s even more important to get to know your colleagues.
One of the practices I have picked up during my career is to share pictures with my team. Usually from one of my morning walks but it can also be from an office when I’m visiting a subsidiary or client.
A beautiful picture is something we all can appreciate and it opens for the team to ask questions and share their own stories. In a non intrusive way it breaks the ice and lets you get to know who you are working with better.
